The International Waterlily Collection of San Angelo, Texas is pleased to announce the introduction and initial public showing of a new nymphaea cultivar in honor and memory of the late iconic photographer, hybridizer and author Mr. Perry D. Slocum.
Nymphaea Perry D. Slocum is a new hybrid waterlily produced and named in his honor by his friend and associate the internationally renowned hybridest Leeann Connelly. Ms. Connelly was approached by Mr. Slocum to produce a noteworthy cultivar in his honor and memory pryor to and released after his death.
It is indeed an exceptional and high honor to the Director and the International Waterlily Collection to display Ms. Connelly's outstanding tribute to a great friend, pioneer and authority in aquatic floraculture. Nymphaea Perry D. Slocum will be on display in the upcoming 2009 and 2010 seasons.
