N. 'Hickory Bend Neon Blue'.
Descriptions by Charles Leach.
Hickory Bend Neon Blue is seedling of Evelyn Randig. Pollen parent is unknown. Given room and adequate nutrition it can become a very large lily but it adapts fairly well to smaller spaces. As the name implies, what sets it apart is the color of its flower. In some lighting the blooms glow in a way that one is reminded of the glow of the blue in a neon sign at night.
Hickory Bend Neon Blue is a non Viviparous day bloomer. The 6 to 7" ( 15 - 18 cm) neon blue flowers stand well above strikingly mottled foliage. New leaves are chocolate brown with light green mottling but the mottling fades fairly quickly. Leaf spread can be up to 8 feet ( 2.44 m) or more.
