N. 'Hickory Bend Cotton Candy'.
Descriptions by Charles Leach.
Hickory Bend Cotton Candy is an Evelyn Randid seedling with an unknown pollen parent. Although its flowers are quite beautiful. its claim to fame is its dramatic leaves. Although thev color fades considerably with time, new ( especially early season leaves) can be about the most completely deep chocolate colored of any water lily around. Rather than being a distraction, the fading of the leaf color makes for an almost quilt like pattern as a background for the bright pink flowers that is truly attractive.
Hickory Bend Cotton Candy is a non viviparous fay bloomer with bright pink 5"-7" (12.7 - 17 cm) flowers. Leaf spread is 3' - 5' (91- 152 cm). Leaves are 8-10" ( 20 - 25,4 cm), New leaves are dark chocolate with apple green markings fading to tan with light green mottling with time.
