N. 'Hickory Bend Resurrection'.
Descriptions by Charles Leach.
Hickory Bend Resurrection is a chance seedling. It got its name because it is almost identical to Nymphiea Rio Rita that we bought one of a few years ago and that died leaving no tuber and no known seedlings. When an almost identical lily appeared in our collection a year after Rio Rita's demise we looked upon it as a resurrection and named it accordingly. Unlike Rio Rita, Resurrection does nicely here in zone 6, produces lots of tubers and viable seedlings that we aware of.
Hickory Bend Resurrection is a non viviparous day bloomer. Its 4" - 6.5" ( 10-16,5 cm) flowers are deep rose colored and about as red as that of any day blooming tropical. Leaf spread is 3'-5' and the 7"-9" (17- 23 cm) leaves are green with maroon speckles.
